Dancing with the Stars is the American version of the UK series, Strictly Come Dancing. The show premiered in June 2005 on ABC and has run for 30 seasons until November 2020. The 31st Season kicks off at Disney Plus. Celebrities and professional dancers are paired together and dance before a panel of judges. Each week, the weakest pair of dancers are voted off the show, the winning pair having survived each week’s votes.

In the show, celebrities are paired with professional dancers. The celebrities are instructed by their professional dancers on a weekly basis, and together they must perform predetermined dances. The pair of dancers then perform before the other contesting couples, and are judged by a panel of judges and the audience. The couple with the lowest number of votes, through a combination of votes from the judges and the audience, are voted off the show.
