The soundtrack to the lives of many teens throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, New Kids On The Block is an American boy band that formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1984 and currently consists of brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. After releasing its eponymous debut album in 1986, the band had a breakthrough hit in 1988 with the single "Please Don't Go Girl", which eventually climbed to No. 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart. The single was from the album Hangin' Tough, which had launched five top 10 singles (a first for a “teen” act), made it to to number one on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and had gone eight-times platinum by the end of that year. Two years later, the group was an international sensation and won two American Music Awards in 1990 for Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo, or Group and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. In 1994, after releasing five studio albums, the group parted ways, but in 2007 they secretly reunited and began covertly recording together again. The result was 2008's album The Block. Since then, the group has continued recording and touring together, and in 2014 they were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
