There might be things left unsaid on television that you can only get to hear on the live comedy stage. Seth Meyers is now taking his brand of humor out of the box.

“When you have a full hour to do stand-up, it is a lot more loose and conversational, and stories about your life that would seem very indulgent on television are really nice to fit in the stand-up act,” says Meyer.

Before SNL, Meyers sharpened his comedy chops as a member of the Northwestern University improv sketch group Mee-Ow. This brought him for roles in the silver screen, exchanging funnies with the likes of Brendan Fraser and Anita Briem in the 2008 3D film Journey to the Center of the Earth. His several minor yet significant roles and exposure in movies brought his talent to the fore, where he was spotted by Loren Michaels, the head producer of Saturday Night Live. He rose from the ranks from writer/performer to head writer and anchorman of the news-parody segment “Weekend Update”. His big anchorman break came when he was announced as replacement of Jimmy Fallon as host of NBC's Late Night with Fallon. In the week of February 24, 2014, an average of over 2.7 million viewers tuned-in during his debut week of the "Late Night With Seth Meyers". thewrap.com touted it as the second-best Late Night ratings in seven years.
