Indie-folk heroes The Lumineers will be heading to Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday 16th March 2017 with the amazing Kaleo & Susto in tow! From the sounds of things, the band are looking forward to playing their new tracks for fans:

"I don't think it's a healthy thing to keep playing the same thing over and over for years," the group's Wes Schultz explains. "It's been a relief to have new material, essentially double to pull from, and that makes us want to write more and more records that we feel strongly about. (Cleopatra) is almost like chapter two of a book we've started — not a total deviation from the first album, but it sounds a little more filled-out, just sonically. The vibe I get off it is it doesn't sound as much like a demo as the first one did. And I imagine the next (album) will go even further."The Lumineers, Kaleo & Susto at Mohegan Sun Arena

Founded by Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion), indie-folk band The Lumineers began as a way for the two friends to cope with the loss of Fraites' older brother, who was also Schultz's best friend, after he died of a drug overdose in 2002, aged 19. Originally based in New York, the duo struggled to progress as a band in the way they'd hoped, so decided to relocate to Denver, Colorado in 2009. Cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek joined the band in 2010, after responding to a Craigslist ad. In the spring of 2011, they signed a management deal with Onto Entertainment, which funded the band to record a full length album. The band's song “Ho Hey” (which went on to become their first single) was used in the season finale of CW's Hart of Dixie in December 2011, which lead to the band signing a deal with independent label Dualtone Records (having passed up several major labels) just one month later. The band released their eponymous debut album on April 3, 2012 on Dualtone Records, and it eventually peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It has been certified Platinum in the US and Ireland, with Gold certifications in the UK, Australia and Canada. Their second studio album, Cleopatra, was released in April 2016.
