Pat Benatar is a highly-acclaimed singer and four-time Grammy Award-winning artist. She is responsible for the iconic classic rock hits “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Love is a Battlefield,” “We Belong,” and “Heartbreaker.” Since emerging in 1972, Benatar has enjoyed a phenomenal career and earned numerous prestigious accolades, including several Grammy Awards and American Music Awards. Benatar and her producer and husband Neil Giraldo were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. The duo, who were inducted into the Rock Hall by country superstar Sheryl Crow, was praised for their significant contributions to music. The singer also stressed how Benatar’s vocals and energy are impossible to replicate.

Indeed, after five decades of exemplary music, Benatar has landmarked her role in the industry and proven her longevity. The prolific singer has released two multi-platinum albums, 15 Top 40 singles in the U.S., and sold over 35 million records. She achieved her incredible breakthrough in 1979 with her debut album, In the Heat of the Night. The critically-acclaimed record, which spawned the hits “I Need a Lover” and “Heartbreaker,” peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In 1981, Benatar achieved her first number 1 album upon releasing her third effort, Precious Time. The record topped the Billboard 200 chart and sold over two million copies in the U.S., earning double platinum status. Benatar has been working with Giraldo since her debut album. He worked as the lead guitarist for her band and wrote the track “We Live for Love,” featured in the album. The acclaimed musician continued working with Benatar and eventually married her in 1982.
